For nearly thirty years a show ran in Australia called Hey Hey It’s Saturday. It began life as segments connecting cartoons on Saturday mornings, but soon grew and dropped the cartoons. In the mid 1980s the show, which had a following among adults because of its double entendre comedy, moved to prime time.
Here’s an incongruous appearance from Bill Hicks, in 1993, sporting the world’s tiniest microphone.
Hale & Pace appeared a number of times.
In 1990-91, there was a UK kid’s version of the show, on TV-AM.
