There’s so much going on in this sketch. Have a look first, then we’ll talk about it.
Rarely does a sketch touch on so much, and reveal new information (to me at least).
It talks about declining TV budgets, the fragmentation of audience, the loss of the younger viewer, the reliance on overseas productions, tropes, scheduling, and show failures and lack of new content.
It’s also funny, and the performances are really good.
Dad’s Army is still a regularly most watched sitcom on British TV, and it seems that’s true of Australia too. I wouldn’t have expected Birds Of A Feather to be popular there though, which was interesting to learn.
But what’s best is the corpsing.
Why is corpsing always so funny?
