I initially thought it was something that had been specially made for the film, a kind of misdirect foreshadow, but it’s actually from a real show.

Lose A Million was created by Action Time, and aired on ITV during the last few months of 1993. Shallow Grave was released in May of 1994, so my guess is they were filming in the flat set at the time Lose A Million was on, and decided to try and incorporate it into the movie, for obvious reasons. Wonder how much the rights set them back in the end.

Anyway, here’s the first episode of the show, not, alas, the one featured in the film.
