Behind The Scenes Of The Broom Cupboard

This aired on the day that Margaret Thatcher resigned, so CBBC was on BBC Two not One. It didn’t occur to me that this would mean they had to use a different network booth, but of course it would.

Lovely fact nugget there to hear the channels had swapped booths since Pip Schofield first sat in the original broom cupboard. Wonder why they switched, anyone know?

Another thing that never occurred to me before now is that for the rest of the day, the continuity announcers would have sat in that booth and been surrounded by all the CBBC gubbins on the walls. Wonder if Edd was just left lying on the desk like a piece of rubbish thrown away into an old dark storeroom.
