Between 1989 and 1995, BBC Two ran a strand of comedy pilots called Comic Asides. It began with perhaps its best known one, KYTV (developed from Radio Active), in May of 1989.
The following week, thye bought us Tygo Road, which made it to a full series a year later. It was written by Richard Cottan and Christopher Douglas.
Then came Dowie, and The Stone Age, which never made it past the pilot stage, before two more that made it to series, Morning’ Sarge and I, Lovett.
