I recently learned about something called ASMR, which means Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It’s that feeling of tingling you get in your scalp that slowly travels down the back of your neck and spine. Apparently, it’s a thing on YouTube, with loads of people whispering and turning pages, but I stumbled on it when I was trying to recreate the interior sounds of a plane cabin.
Not sure why whispering does it, and it’s not something I have experienced myself. But the subject came up during this week’s recording of Sundays Supplement, and the whole thing turned into an ASMR demonstration, with me not quite ever getting it correct.
So yeah, aside from the clickbait title, this is just a plug for my old podcast.
