Fast Forward x 2

Fast Forward was an Australian sketch show that ran on the 7 Network for 74 episodes between 1989 and 1994.

It’s worth quoting Mark Lewisohn in full from his excellent Radio Times Guide To TV Comedy:

An earthy and funny sketch show, spoofing film and television and featuring, in its original version at least, some hilariously accurate impersonations of well-known Australian stars. Concentrating on these lampoons, the editions screened in the UK we especially re-edited ‘international versions’, slickly put together by Ray Cameron with the aid of consultant Barry Cryer.

pg 236

It aired on BBC Two over 13 of these re-edited episodes, at about 1.30am between 1994 and 1996.

Not to be confused with the Children’s BBC sketch show Fast Forward, which starred Floella Benjamin from the min-1980s.

The Australian show morphed into Full Frontal, which kick started the careers of Eric Bana and Shaun Micallef.
