Games Republic was a Gamesmaster clone, hosted by Trevor And Simon, which aired on the .tv channel at the turn of the millennium. It’s notable as it marks the first regular TV appearance of Charlie Brooker, often dressed as a monk, and billed as The Pundit.

Brooker tells a story to Richard Herring that the show was shot so quickly and in such bulk that they refused to let anyone do a re-take. That may explain why it was criticised for its lack of research.
