In July of 1996 Bartle Bogle Hegarty and Motive announced a new advertising campaign for Natwest. With a ten million pound budget, they hoped their creation would run for five years. It featured Gary Olsen and Samantha Beckinsale as the Cannings, a family who move to the country. The idea was to have them find their feet in this new home, and use their story to sell mortgages, insurance, and small business loans.
Here’s one of the first wave.
And here’s the short follow up for later in the breaks.
The ads were produced by Spirit Films, and directed by Simon Cheek.
