Sometimes, there are seven words that form a sentence that makes perfect, literal sense, but together seem so incongruous that the meaning just makes your brow knot. Like ‘Craig Ferguson Created ITV’s Doc Martin Show‘ or ‘Angelica Houston Was The First Mrs Brown’.
TERRY VENABLES CREATED AN ITV DETECTIVE SHOW
He bloody did.
After co-authoring five, yes FIVE, novels with Gordon Williams (under the pseudonym PB Yuill), the detective they created together became the eponymous hero of Thames Television’s Hazell.
I think I best know him as Rick’s lecturer in The Young Ones, to be honest.
Hazell ran for two series and a total of 22 episodes from January 1978 to July 1979.
