About eight months before The Fast Show hit the screens of BBC Two, a sitcom pilot written by Paul Whitehouse and Charlie Higson aired as part of Comic Asides. This was in the same run of pilots that introduced us to The High Life. Higson and Whitehouse’s pilot was called The Honeymoon’s Over, and it starred Alex Lowe and Angela Clarke, with lots of supporting characters played by familiar faces like Vic Reeves (credited as Jim Moir), Mark Williams, and Whitehouse himself. It’s well worth a watch.
I really enjoyed this, laughing out loud throughout, as did the watching audience it seems. So it’s amazing it was never picked up for a full series. I wonder if The Fast Show ended up taking precedent.
