Conan’s First NBC Promos

Here’s an interesting collection of curios from the always brilliant Don Giller channel on YouTube. It’s some promos that NBC aired on the run up to Conan taking over Late Night. Sorry about the Amish one at the start.

I find it fascinating that they embraced his lack of experience. Was that to manage expectations? He’s going to be bad, so when he was fine, it seemed remarkable? He struggled to begin with, naturally, so that makes this choice even more interesting. Wonder if it was Conan’s idea.
