There’s a sitcom that was broadcast in 1989 about two sisters, one of whom is down on her luck, the other of whom is doing rather well actually thank you. And due to circumstances beyond their control, the two sisters are forced to reconcile and live together in the same home.
It was called Sob Sisters, and was written by Andrew Marshall for Central Television. It was on only a few months before Birds Of A Feather hit BBC screens, and starred Gwen Taylor and Polly Adams. It’s an interesting curio that two shows with a similar premise were on so close to one another. The difference with Sob Sisters is that the more affluent sister was forced to move into the flat of the less affluent one.
Interestingly, both shows used the idea of photos and polaroids in their opening titles.
